antiques & artistry: a night with the scout guide atlanta at le chateau

A Year in the Making // They say good things are worth the wait, and my collaboration with The Scout Guide Atlanta proved that to be true. Ever since Katie, the wonderful and thoughtful owner, first reached out to me a year prior, I’ve been anticipating the chance to paint for their iconic launch party. While the timing wasn’t quite right for the 2024 event, Katie reached back out early in the new year, as she had promised, to book Fig and Font for her 2025 launch celebration.

When you wait a full year for an event, you start to envision exactly how to make the event perfect. In preparation for her night, I had decided to offer my Custom Stamp option for the very first time. By adding the event name and date to each guest portrait, we created a tangible memento for every attendee to take home and remember the party by.

Floor-to-Ceiling French Elegance at Le Château // I prepped my materials and made the short drive to North Atlanta to an antique shop called Le Château. Tucked away behind a row of shops, this venue is a hidden gem of "floor-to-ceiling" opulence. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by enormous crystal chandeliers and aisles of ornate French armoires and mirrors. This Atlanta showroom is a menagerie of hand selected luxury French furnishing and decor, sourced by the family of owners themselves since the 1970’s. They sell heirloom statement pieces and one of a kind treasures.

I was warmly greeted by the owner, Eiten, who treated me like an old friend. She led me to a gorgeous antique French table she had chosen for my setup. Getting to choose from her collection of museum-quality furniture for my "studio for the night" made me feel right at home. I immediately texted my mom videos of the venue saying, “Look where I’m painting tonight!” (You see, my mother and I share a love of old and beautiful things, so I knew she’d appreciate how delighted I was feeling in that space.)

A Treat for the Senses // Painting in such a curated space was a dream. Everywhere I turned, there was a work of art to admire. Katie curated her launch party with that same loving care; the attention to detail was felt in every corner—right down to the craft cocktails a kind guest brought over to my table!

Supporting Local: The Heart of the Scout Guide // This is exactly why I love what I do. My work gives me a reason to explore the unique, beautiful places in Georgia that I might never have discovered otherwise. The Scout Guide Atlanta does an incredible job of highlighting the local business owners who make our community so vibrant. Do check their resources out if you need ideas for where to shop, eat or stay in the Atlanta area!

I’ll definitely be returning to Le Château soon—not just to paint, but to get lost in those aisles of French history once again.
